About Us Our mission is to create a safe space for women of all types, creeds, races. classes, ethnicities, and so on, to be empowered by becoming involved in studying socialist theory and applying it to their local situation. The group strives for city-wide sisterhood and integration of those women who have unexpressed and/or repressed political views and which may find themselves being marginalized and frustrated by the two party neoliberal system and are in search of an ideology which better reflects their worlds, as well as a possible starting point for transformational change in all intersections that make up one's identity and reality in society.
With this said, we advocate for leftist politics with the goal of using the Green Party's and other leftist organization's ballot access to run radical women for office (if this is something they are interested in pursuing). All womyn are welcome!! ** Please note: Men who are feminists may also join the discussions, provided they respect that this as a group for women and do not attempt to overpower conversation. We are a group that advocates for all of the following: Anti-War Anti- Imperialism Anti-sexism Anti-racism Anti-patriarchy Anti-white supremacy Anti-colonization Our overarching goal is to empower women to become a vital part of the global collectivist movement toward the communist imperative of our time. As activists and empowered agents of transformational change we work together with the intent to eradicate the social relations of inequity and oppression. We strive to accomplish this by educating with socialist and communist ideas exposing how the dominating capital agenda uses disinformation and destructive deception, including sexism, racism and classism, to fracture solidarity of the working class in general and women in particular. We aim to accomplish this through the following strategies: 1. Organize, outreach and educate the public. 2. Increase the number of registered and active Leftist women voters. 3. Promote Leftist Parties as parties for women! Initiate and participate in external coalition building with other women's and related groups, including for purposes of identifying potential candidates for local offices. 4. Develop a strong identity, voice and presence of women in the leftist politics that also reflects the diversity of San Antonio. |
Who We Are |
We are women who know we have the ability and capacity to learn and live a different world view and economic system. We are also women who understand and live the intersectionalities placed and developed by the capitalist and neoliberal political economic realities of the time.
We believe and fight for women's rights in a holistic sense and we fight against the privatization of natural resources (water-i.e. private corporation Vista Ridge) and public goods (i.e., public transportation made inaccessible to the many, replacing public schools with anti-democratic corporate charter schools, denying the human right to universal healthcare and access to welfare). |
Our History
|
Our group was founded in September of 2015 as the Bexar County Green Party Women's Caucus. Seeing the lack of participation due to our affiliation with the Bexar County Greens, we slowly began to remove ourselves from the Green Party label. We still stand in solidarity with them as a progressive third party alternative, but have chosen to advocate for and educate ourselves in socialist and leftist political economic theory. Today we are an organization that studies Marxism- Leninist theory and Third World Feminism. We find ways of applying the theory to practice in the local struggle by standing in solidarity with BLM, Labor Unions, Mujeres Marchan and many other left-leaning organizations.
